February Round-up

This is from the blog of http://scrapbooklady.typepad.com/katie_the_scrapbook_lady/

She asks the same list of questions each month.  This helps if you are a slacker like me and don't keep up with your scraping/journaling!

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Well none...that is sad!  I spend all of my free time reading the blogs and messages boards on the internet!

What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?

Same as always I guess...my shows include House, Grey's Anatomy, Bones, Life Unexpected NCIS.  Most are reruns due to the fact that the winter olymicis has been on (yuck).

If you count all of the "Josh" tv then Word World, Sid the Science Kid, Super Why, and Chungginton.

What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
Let's see...We went to the super bowl party at th Hummingbird Club with Mike & Amber. Joann, Ashley and Grandpa Burt where there with us too!

I spent several days hanging out with my friend Vickie at her house which I haven't done in a while.  Jason & I went to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner Valentines Day (in the snow!)

Amber, Tammi (Amber's Mom) and I went shopping for invitation cardstock and out for a  late lunch at Los Cabos.

What gifts did I give and/or receive?
I got and gave a Valentines card from Jason.  We didn't do presents, but no big deal...we don't really need anything at this point!

I gave Josh a set of Mighty Machine dvd's which he loves...he is such a boy!  Dirt, trucks, airplanes, tractors and boats...can't ask for more!

The boys both got cards with a dollar for their piggy banks from G-ma and Pops.

What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Bought a tiny attacher and a binderie...both still in my trunk...really need to finish cleaning up downstairs so I can play with all of my scrap crap!

Bought Josh a new pair of tennis shoes, which he will not wear!

Got some new pillows after Josh threw up on his...just couldn't get the smell out!

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
So glad that I can say that I FINALLY got over my cold or URI junk!

The boys both had the URI junk too.  We took Andrew to the ER a few weeks ago for a fever of 103.  Thankfully they are both better.  I hate when my kids are sick, it makes me feel so out of control (for us control freaks it isn't a comfortable feeling!)

Josh and Jason both got puking sick last weekend.  Jason was SO sick he missed a day of work...which is only the second day of work he has missed since I have known him (fourteen years).

What were my accomplishments this month?
I made it through the month without running away! LOL!  3 sick males in the house at one time?  Not what a girl would consider a good time.

I am down another 6 pounds, not great but, progress none the less...I am wearing pants that I haven't been able to get into since before Josh was born.  WOO HOO!

I have my circle journal done on time.

I have purged 3 boxes of stuff from my scrap crap and am ALMOST done with putting everything back together.  I still have quite a bit I want to change, but it is almost a workable space again!

What were my disappointments this month?
This is a hard one.  I actually have a coworker who had some major problems.  He kind of lost it. It has caused a lot of upheaval and change in an already tense work place.  I truly feel bad for the guy, it seems like he is very troubled.

I really was hoping to get my scrap area back together weeks ago, but with all of the sickness and stress at work I was just too exhausted to go down and face my mess!

How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)
To be honest I didn't really make much head way on anything this month.  Kind of just kept my head above the water...which I was part of my commitment for the new year...do more than just tread water...so I guess I will try again in March and hope that I can make some progress!

Anything else noteworthy to include?
Always something...

Jason played and lost in the first round of Dartball play offs...shocking!

Andrew can now hold his own bottle.

Andrew loves his exersaucer...the jumping up and down and spinning around and watching his little piece of the world go by!

I am loving glimmer mist, margaritas and twix bars lately.  I am happily addicted to Ustream scrap shows and blog surfing.  I am going to go to work on my scrap crap...until next time!

still alive..

Ok so I just heard the song by Kenny Chesney & Dave Mattews Band "still alive"....so thought I would say that I am still alive. Totally love this song by the way...of course who doesn't love Kenny and Dave? Which reminds me Mom called to tell me that Jimmy Buffet is coming back to town....Parrothead in the house...we are so going.  I told my mom that I am buying her ticket if she can't afford it.  Mom, Sarah and I had the BEST time together last time.  I think this time we should go about noon and just hang out and drink and be silly...guess we will see...might have to see who else wants to go... not sure that Mom and Dad will want to be there at noon!

The boys are feeling much better.  Andrew is teething so he is fussier than normal, but overall much better.  Thank you GOD!

The snow is melting...kind of ...it is still freezing outside, but atleast some of the slush and slop is gone.  I really need spring!

I finished my intro, rules and layout for my circle journal.  Of course I didn't finish it until the last minute so I forgot to take pictures before I swapped...oh well!  I decided I would organize my scrap crap...uhhh not that you can really tell right now.  It sort of looks like a bomb went off in my basement.  Josh keeps coming down here telling me I suppose to be cleaning up my junk.   Yeah well it isn't that easy.  I have been throwing stuff into piles for months now, so it is purge and rearrange time.  I have actually made some real progress in the last few hours.  I decided to stop and take a break to check my email and stuff...I am actually ready to get back to work...who knew????  I guess a week of sitting on my butt with my kids crying and whining has actually been good for me.

Went back to work today for the first time in a week and a half...yep it still sucks!  LOL.  I can't beilieve how crazy it gets sometimes.  The whole group of girls is in an uproar because we are so short staffed...still more people working than when I started...and we actually do less!  I really do love my job, but it is most definatly cRaZy!  I discharged 3 pateints before lunch today...GO ME!  Ofcourse someone will be pissed cause I missed something or forgot to tell them something, but so goes life with hospice!

Well my scrap crap is calling my name....welll not really, but I really want to scrap so I better find my table...and my trimmer!  Who knows maybe I will even take some pictures..and figure out how to post them!

Being a mom is totally stressful!!!

So being a mom is the best thing EVER. But sometimes it can be super stressful. Thursday night Andrew seemed unusually fussy. I say unusually because, well isn't really ever fussy. By Friday morning I had like zero sleep, Andrew was a total crab and Josh was ready to go to Sarah's house. Ummmm...well Mommy is tired, Andrew is working on getting sick and Sarah doesn't want us around if we have cooties. Josh was understandably mad. Luckly it is really easy to distract a 2 year old...want some fruit snacks? Want to to watch 10 episodes of really annoying kid tv? OK!

By 7 pm Friday night Jason went to Walmart to get a thermometer...Andrew's temp was 102.9....UMMMM, yeah I am calling the doctor....yes I am a horrible mother. THere are literally 7 thermometers in the house and NONE of them worked...good job nurse, MOM!

Off to St John's Mercy Medical Center in St Louis...my favorite place to go on my day off! The pediatric ER was actually pretty quite. We drove through what looked like a blizzard to get there...Yes he has a tempature, yes we tortured him by sucking snot out of his nose for a RSV and influenza culture. Made you hold your beautiful baby boy to a table while shooting a chest x-ray and then made you sit in a little room for 2 hours...but hey we did tell you that your baby has a fever and probably some type of virus, no we aren't going to do anything for it...Thanks for spending your Friday night with us. Come back if your baby stays sick....I love the medical system in this country!
